As an author, I’ve been interviewed by Rachael Ray, Charlie Rose and the Rev. Pat Robertson, but the most memorable interview was with Katie Couric, who had me on her show to talk about a book I wrote about the importance that timing plays in our lives. I met her just a few minutes before the taping began, and she gave me advanced warning about a question she wanted to ask me. After I explained that there is no satisfying answer to that question, she assured me she wouldn’t ask that question.
Ten minutes later, with cameras rolling in front of a packed studio audience, a smiling Katie Couric asked me that very question. I smiled back and answered as well as I could.
That experience taught me that in business – and in life -- you have to be prepared for anything. I pride myself on being prepared, getting along with everyone and putting the team first.
Besides writing books, I’ve worked in journalism, public relations and corporate communications, and I have experience managing people, running a small business, mentoring, writing, researching and interviewing.
